Dear 8th grade parents/guardians,
Our 8th grade class will be promoting on Thursday, June 6th. This ceremony will be held in the evening on the west playfield, next to our science building. The students need to report to the gym by 6:00 p.m. The promotion will begin at 6:30 p.m., and end at approximately 8:00 p.m. Please see the ceremony information included with this letter. The 8th grade promotion dance/ party in the gym will be held from 8:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is being provided by our PTSA.
Promotional certificate portfolios will be distributed at the south side of the gym, immediately following the ceremony. These portfolios include the promotion photographs and certificates, and will be given to students only.
Parking will be available in our parking lots and our basketball court area.
Students will not be allowed to participate in the promotional ceremony and dance if the student has not met the promotional requirements of earning 50 credits. Students who are suspended in the last 45 days of the school year will not be able to participate. If your child will not be promoting, you will be notified by the beginning of the last week of school by our counseling staff.
On June 3rd and 4th, students will receive their yearbooks after school from 2:50 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the MPR. Please remind them to write their names in their yearbooks. We should still have extra yearbooks that will be sold, starting after school on the same days for $50.00. These will be sold first come, first served, during the afternoon from 2:46 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. Parents will need to come in and purchase the yearbook. If paying cash, please have exact change. We will not accept credit cards used by students.
Friday, June 7th, is the last day of school. It is also a minimum day. 8th graders are encouraged to attend.
Thank you for sharing your students with us for the last few years. We’ve enjoyed getting to know them. Please feel free to call us at 891-3066 ext. 40110 with any questions that you may have regarding the schedule for the end of the year.
Sincerely,
