History
Welcome to the department that we all continue to learn from -- of course that is history! We are eager to help students understand the importance of education in their lives. We believe learning should be a lifelong, enjoyable adventure, promoting students' self worth and dignity are important components in our student-centered curriculum.
Our 6th and 7th grade course will survey geography and ancient civilizations focusing on how those people have shaped the world we live in today. The 8th grade course includes discovery and settlement, founding of the colonies, war for independence, birth of our nation, westward movement, Native Americans, Civil War and Reconstruction.
All classes meet the California History-Social Science Content Standards for California Public Schools for Grades 6-8.
